At Chance Harbour you don't have to wear uniforms. The same did not apply to my high school:

My Summer Wardrobe:

Hello!

It has been simply FOREVER since I wrote a thing on this blog.
I'm terrible! filming, traveling, scheming and sleeping have taken priority.
So to make up for such a delay between posts, Im gonna make a SERIOUS effort from now on. Cos its So much fun, and I like being able to type things longer then 140 characters.

Things That are making me happy right now:
Old School Justin Timberlake. Cry Me a River...Senorita
My looming SUMMER HOLIDAY back to Australia
Working with such ridiculous and hilarious and amazing people on Secret Circle
Manuka Honey and Almond Butter on the same spoon
Baths. (Its SO COLD in Vancouver)

Oh my goodness. Six months since my last post! What the dickens! I missed my little blog. So today, officially, were back in town.
I start work on a new show in two days, called Secret Circle for the CW Network. Its about witches, so my dvd player has been getting a workout with the likes of Hocus Pocus, Practical Magic, The Craft & The Witches of Eastwick.

& hurrah! Its Summer (at least it is here in LA)
So, to celebrate the rebirth of this abandoned blog, and the fact I am lucky enough to be sitting under a half moon on my porch in this balmy heat,
the lyrics of my favourite summer tune, Summer Skin by DeathCab for Cutie.

Squeaky swings and tall grass

The longest shadows ever cast

The water's warm and children swim

And we frolicked about in our summer skin

I don't recall a single care

Just greenery and humid air

Then Labor day came and went

And we shed what was left of our summer skin

On the night you left I came over

And we peeled the freckles from our shoulders

Our brand new coats so flushed and pink

And I knew your heart I couldn't win

Cause the season's change was a conduit

And we'd left our love in our summer skin

magicwater (aka coconut water)

I love Coconuts. I do.
I have no shame about the fact I waltz down Ghould Street on a hot summers day with a Fresh Young Coconut, sipping it from a straw like I'm on a hawaiian honeymoon. Aloha!
& I truly do believe there is not many foods around quite as special as the trusty coconut.
Personally I like to drink them, I like to use the oil in cooking, & I've been known to use it (excessively) on my hair and skin at night. I get mine from the Suv on Oxford Street.

A few fast facts.
'Coconut is highly nutritious and rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It is classified as a "functional food" because it provides many health benefits beyond its nutritional content.
Coconut oil is of special interest because it possesses healing properties far beyond that of any other dietary oil and is extensively used in traditional medicine among Asian and Pacific populations. Pacific Islanders consider coconut oil to be the cure for all illness.

In traditional medicine around the world coconut is used to treat a wide variety of health problems including the following: abscesses, asthma, baldness, bronchitis, bruises, burns, colds, constipation, cough, dropsy, dysentery, earache, fever, flu, gingivitis, gonorrhea, irregular or painful menstruation, jaundice, kidney stones, lice, malnutrition, nausea, rash, scabies, scurvy, skin infections, sore throat, swelling, syphilis, toothache, tuberculosis, tumors, typhoid, ulcers, upset stomach, weakness, and wounds.'

Wow-ee

Theres a great website
http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/
Where theres a whole bunch more information.
However, I drink coconut water for much more simple reasons
I like the taste.
Its refreshing.
It makes my skin GLOW
Nuff said.
So go grab yourself a coconut water and drink up, (miniature umbrellas optional).

Tea for 2

There are few things that get me as excited a shop dedicated to Tea.
'T2', both in Bondi Junction and there used to be one in Newtown (maybe its still there, I havent been in ol' newtown for a while) warrants a good 40 minutes of browsing, tasting smelling and marvelling.
I also think that tea is such a good gift. Or maybe Im just hinting.

Feelin fancy, try the Strawberries & Cream
An absolute dessert delight. A gorgeous blend of hibiscus petals and rosehips with apple, strawberries and yogurt brews a beautiful red infusion with a bright, sweet aroma. A velvety sweet sensation with a crisp, tart finish.

GOLLY

Or if your a self appointed green tea connoisseur like myself, go for the Buddhas Tears;

Buddha's Tears provides contemplation of the divine. Made from a series of unopened tender white pekoe buds and young leaves hand-rolled into a sphere. Each tear gracefully unfurls and dances in the water, gradually releasing a sublime and refined flavour. A delicate and beautifully light infusion, flavour builds upon each sip, filling the mouth with an ethereal jasmine aroma. A meditation on heavenly art and a sensory treat to savour.

Not sure what your tea soul mate is, take this test.

Cheers! x

My mum, my sister and I in Guernsey.

Dont Panic Its Organic

I just got back from a week in the moutains at a retreat called Gwinganna.
We hiked through the bush, did yoga and boxing (not together..) learnt what flowers were edible, did Tai Chi at sunrise, and sat on cushions in a church and did some texta art before dinner.
All the food was grown organically, in the garden, and there was no televsion or phone-reception.
It was glorious.

Johnny
This is my work collegue good friend Caitlin Jean Stasey but her friends mum calls her Caity.
We have lots, LOTS in common but mostly our fondness for the simple things in life such as a warm milo and helping out the elderly.
Sometimes we disagree, mainly on the topic of Pirates.
She's very pretty, hitchhikes as a hobby and only, ONLY reads British Literature.
If you want to see the demise of such a promising young girl, go to her blog milkandlion.blogspot.com
